SIGHTING: Blacon high rise resident spots big cat at sunset

A resident of the high-rise flats in Blacon has reported spotting a brown or tawny big cat while watching the sunset from their window.

The animal, said to be nearly three feet high, dived into the bushes during the encounter at around 4:30 on Sunday 16th October.

“We heard some leaves rustling and saw a black big cat. It was too big to be a normal cat or dog, lying down behind the grass.”

Dean told Puma Watch: “I tried to approach it and as soon as I climbed the fence it stealthily fled through the grass”.

James was able to capture a photo of the big cat as it turned to run away from him. He says it looked “exactly like a puma”.

A commuter has reported spotting a “black, fairly large animal” they believe could have been a puma while driving along Sealand Road.

A large black cat reportedly dashed in front of a motorists headlights near the A41 Tarvin Roundabout late one night in November.

The animal was first seen through the building site fencing before it “slowly” emerged and “skulked” behind the stand.

Shelley claims: “a large reddish animal, the size of a Labrador, bolted from out of the trees and across the road in front of me.”

Howard spotted the animal and told us: “It turned its head as I passed and I could see yellow in its eyes.”
