A puma has been reported walking along the edge of a field at the campsite which surrounds Valle Crucis Abbey.
Keith and his family spotted the animal at Abbey Farm Caravan Park around 8:15pm one night in October last year.
He told us: “We spotted the big cat slowly walking along the edge of the camping field.
“At the time I said that looks like a puma. My wife, my daughter and her sons also seen it, but we just said it must have been a large cat. Having seen the pictures and videos online I can honestly say it is what we had seen.”
We contacted Abbey Farm and told them about Keith’s report. The caravan park told Puma Watch: “We are on a farm so quite likely it was one of our animals.”
When asked if they were aware of any other sightings on the farm or in the surrounding area, they told us: “No pumas have been spotted.”
However, away from the farm in the wider Llangollen and Dee Valley area, there has been countless reports of big cat sightings over the years. Recently, these have included:
- An “enormous beast” just a few miles along the Horseshoe Pass road from the Abbey
- A black big cat spotted from a canal boat in Llangollen
- A big cat caught on video in Corwen back in November
- Police released an artists impression of a big cat being investigated near Llangollen and warned the public not to approach it
